Stony Brook University has placed 131 student-athletes on the America East Honor Roll for the winter and spring athletic seasons, the conference office announced Thursday. Combined with 59 student-athletes named to the America East Fall Honor Roll, the Seawolves have placed 190 student-athletes on the Honor Roll for the 2011-12 athletic year.

Student-athletes must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher during their season of competition to receive this recognition. In addition, 72 Stony Brook student-athletes were placed on the Commissioner's Honor Roll, which is reserved for athletes who achieve a 3.5 GPA or higher.

Among Stony Brook's 19 eligible sports (football competes in the Big South Conference), the women's track & field team placed the most student-athletes on the Honor Roll with 23. The men's track & field team had the most of any Stony Brook male sport, placing 22 on the Honor Roll. The women's track & field team also sported the most Commissioner's Honor Roll student-athletes with 14.
