Caridi rakes in fourth America East Defensive Player of the Week accolade

Cambridge, Mass. - After limiting an opponent to one goal or fewer for the third time this season, senior goalie Frankie Caridi of the No. 17/16 Stony Brook women's lacrosse team has captured her fourth America East Defensive Player of the Week honor in seven weeks.

Caridi made three stops and allowed one goal, the fewest in a conference game in program history, in Stony Brook's 12-1 win over UMBC Saturday. The Northport, N.Y., native, who entered last week third nationally in goals-against average and save percentage, caused one turnover and scooped up one ground ball.
