Seawolves Club Board of Directors
Dr. Joe Anderson - Staff
In 1998, the Department of Athletics engaged the Seawolves Club as a fundraising arm to provide financial assistance to the intercollegiate Athletics program. Since then, members of the Seawolves Club have played an integral role in having an annual five-week P.A.W.S. Campaign and also served on the club's Board of Directors. In 2004, this group was re-defined as the Athletic Director Advisory Council (ADAC) under a revised P.A.W.S. acronym: Providing Athletes With SUPPORT.
Under the leadership of the Director of Athletics and his/her designee, the ADAC is comprised of senior athletic administrators, coaches, alumni, local merchants, corporate sponsors, community members, current and former University staff and current student athletes.
The mission of the ADAC is to assist and advise the Stony Brook University Department of Athletics in raising funds to benefit and enhance the overall educational experience for current and future Stony Brook University student athletes, in addition to supporting the Director and his/her goals and objectives.
Funds raised through the efforts of this group will be utilized for facility upgrades, recruiting enhancements, academic student-athlete development, scholarships, and staffing. The ADAC is broken down into several sub committees including the Hall of Fame, Major Gifts, P.A.W.S. Campaign, Sports Programs "Friends" Groups, Special Events, and Donor Recognition.
The Athletic Director Advisory Council is a mechanism to provide student athletes and coaches with the resources to compete at the highest possible level and to enhance the overall quality of the educational experience for Stony Brook student-athletes.
