Parenty headlines nine All-America East honorees

Freshman Jack Parenty headlined nine Stony Brook baseball conference awards honorees as he was named 2013 America East Rookie of the Year, the conference announced on the eve of the America East Championship, held at LeLacheur Park. Parenty, junior Frankie Vanderka and junior Kevin Courtney were first-team All-America East selections.

Lagvilava paired with Michigan's Yurovsky in NCAA Singles

Senior Nini Lagvilava (Tbilisi, Georgia) of the Stony Brook women's tennis team will face Michigan's Ronit Yurovsky in the first round of the NCAA Division I Singles Championship on Wednesday. The match is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. ET.

Baseball opens America East Championship vs. Maine

The Stony Brook baseball team will open defense of its America East Championship crown Wednesday when it takes on top seed Maine in the tournament's opening game at LeLacheur Park in Lowell, Mass. First pitch is scheduled for 4 p.m., and live video is available for free at AmericaEast.com.

Softball season comes to an end in NCAA Columbia Regional

The Stony Brook softball team had its 2013 season come to an end on Saturday with a 6-0 loss to Oregon State in the NCAA Columbia Regional. The America East champions finished an outstanding campaign with 35 wins.

Stony Brook Athletics held its annual Awards Ceremony - The Wolfies - Wednesday night at the Student Activities Center. Headlining the honorees were Co-Male Athletes of the Year Tommy Brenton of the men's basketball team and Miguel Maysonet of the football team and Stony Brook Female Athlete of the Year Demmianne Cook of the women's lacrosse team.
