Zamora dazzles but baseball eliminated by Maine


Stony Brook baseball freshman Daniel Zamora struck out a career-high 13 batters and was dominant for most of the day over eight innings, but Maine scored three runs in the sixth inning, and it was enough for a 3-1 win over the Seawolves Friday at LeLacheur Park. The Seawolves have been eliminated from the America East Championship.

Burne advances at NCAA Regionals


Just hours after being honored for her work on the track and in the classroom with an America East All-Academic nod, junior Olivia Burne inched closer to a trip to the NCAA Championships. She advanced in her heat in the women's 1500 meter and will compete in the quarterfinal race Saturday.

Tundo garners honorable mention All-America honors


Senior Jeff Tundo of the Stony Brook men's lacrosse team has been named a USILA honorable mention All-American, the organization announced on Thursday morning. It's the first All-America honor for Tundo, who finished his Stony Brook career with 108 points in only 32 games.

Lagvilava falls to Michigan's Yurovsky at NCAA Championships


The college career of senior Nini Lagvilava (Tbilisi, Georgia) came to a close as the two-time reigning America East Player of the Year fell to Michigan's Ronit Yurovsky, 7-5, 6-1, in the first round of the NCAA Individual Championship at Illinois Wednesday.
