Men's hoops will battle Vermont Sunday on CBS Sports Network


The Stony Brook men's basketball team heads to Burlington, Vt., Sunday for a 12 p.m. tilt against Vermont. SBU has won eight straight games and can clinch its second America East regular season title in three seasons with a victory. The game will be nationally televised on CBS Sports Network. Van Dalen runs a 4:11.78 1,500 at Millrose Games


The Millrose Games' inaugural Wanamaker Women's Metric Mile featured World and Olympic Champions, and Stony Brook University's own Lucy Van Dalen. And Van Dalen didn't disappoint. The senior from Wanganui, New Zealand ran a 4:11.78, finishing seventh.

Seawolves compete at Valentine Invitational


Stony Brook's track & field teams competed at the Valentine Invitational hosted by Boston University. The race was the last one in preparation for next week's America East Championships.

Cook, Rubino lead Women's Lacrosse past Colgate, 13-10


Junior Demmianne Cook (Nesconset, N.Y.) had six goals and freshman Michelle Rubino (East Setauket, N.Y.) added three goals and two assists as the Stony Brook women's lacrosse team topped Colgate, 13-10, in the season opener for both teams.

Women's Hoops falls to first-place Boston University


Senior Whitney Davis (Muskegon, Mich.) scored a team-high 14 points and the Stony Brook women's basketball trailed first-place Boston University by just eight at halftime but BU pulled away in the second half for a 56-31 victory on Saturday at Case Gym. [READ MORE]

Men's Lacrosse picked to finish second in America East


Stony Brook University's men's lacrosse team has been picked to finish second in the America East, the conference announced Thursday. The Seawolves picked up one first-place vote as coaches were unable to vote for their own team.
